Seasons Change

I love fall.  I love sweaters, hoodies, boots, fuzzy blankets, camp fires and cool nights.  Ahh, think about the feelings you have just thinking about fall.  There is something about fall.  There is something so inspiring when the air gets a little cooler and the leaves begin to change color and fall to the ground.

This is my favorite season.  God speaks to me and inspires me through the beauty of fall.  I watch the leaves change and I feel joy.  I often think how can a season of death and dying bring such joy and pleasure.

All then there it was….we are called to die daily for Christ. We have a desire in us for new life.  A desire for the old to pass away so that all things can become new. We gave our lives to Christ and who were then died and we began a season much like fall where old habits and mindsets die, fall away and in the place of them we are given new life, transformed thinking, form new habits and ways of living.  This is a beautiful thing.   There is something so beautiful in death and new life.

Fall is such a reminder to me of my own personal journey.  God says there is a time and a season for everything.

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 (ESV) A Time for Everything
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: 2 a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; 3 a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.”

My journey and yours will come and go in seasons.  We will have moments of joy, laughter, pain, birth, grief and death.  It is all part of life.  We see that from the beginning.  Our journeys are life the seasons.  Each different yet beautiful.  Every season having a purpose and being for our good and the good of those around us.

Imagine God watching your seasons change as we watch the gift of nature He has given us.  Think of the way it gives us joy and think of what it must be like for Him to watch the journey of your life as you move through each season.

It is hard to see those hard seasons as good but what you’re through right now will pass just like the seasons. You will come out better, different, and changed.  Even those seasons of death have a purpose.  Even a season where things have died off your life is being used for your good. Spring, summer, fall and winter all serve a purpose and lead to the next season.  One season prepares us for the next as we continually transition.

Where you are right now will not be where you will be in a year from now.  This is just a season.  Keep your eyes focused on the glory of God and His goodness and keep walking through. It will come to an end and you will be prepared for the next. Find the beauty in this season. Pray and ask God to help you see the beauty in even the season of death, pruning, removal and falling away. Because just like each season only lasts for a short time then comes spring. That season of new opportunities, new birth, growth and refreshing.

Ladies you can live your best life right now in the season your in. Even in the hardest season of my life God showed me the beauty of being His daughter and being wrapped in His never failing, unconditional love.

I pray you take a moment right now where you are and stop, look out the window at the beauty of His creation and know it was all for you. Every word spoken to life by God was because of His love for you. Even in this season that doesn’t change. He loves you and will work even the hard moments to your good when you just love Him and surrender. Right now stop thinking on all the cares of this world and meditate simply on His goodness, His provision, His blessings and His love for you. Let everything else fall away like the leaves from the trees and get lost in the beauty of it all.

After His Heart,

Sheila Millinder
