We’ve all found comfort in daily busy-ness. But now God is calling us to find our comfort in Him alone.
Yesterday was sheet changing day. That meant the pillow cases as well. So that meant that all the pillows were in the floor without cases. When I went to put the fresh sheets on the bed I also put pillow cases on all the pillows and placed them back in their spots. I evidently got the right pillows on hubby’s side of the bed. He slept fine. But I must have picked the wrong pillows for my side. I even got up in the night and changed one of my pillows out. But I still have a bit of a neck ache this morning. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I’ll change them out again today. I just want my comfortable pillows back!
Oh beloved, this pillow problem reminds me of life right now. I just want my comfort back! How about you? And I think about how much has changed for people. We all know that sports are done for now and that means kids are not going to practice. Parents aren’t having date nights. Lots of things have changed and most folks are doing their best to stay at home. I’m not running to Giant Discount Store at all. We’re all even thinking about whether we should even get drive through for a meal. Vacations, especially spring break, are certainly hindered for everyone. We are all affected.
God speaks and says I AM that I AM. You’ve found comfort in daily busy-ness. But now I AM calling you to find your comfort in Me alone. It’s almost as if idols have been broken down and thrown away. What once was normal is now different. And we who are no longer so busy are finding that we have lots of time on our hands to think about life and family and even having to learn to enjoy one another’s company.
God wants you to know this morning that you are safe in His Presence and you are learning new things about fellowship with Him that you might not have known before this shut down. While the world cries ruin, disaster, and more- God is saying restoration, redemption and more! Rest right now and quit trying to figure out when you will get your too busy life back. Instead ask God to highlight things to be thankful for and learn how to live in the comfort of daily spiritual living. Even this morning, as you might find yourself uncomfortable on church day, you can have church because you ARE the church! And God’s desires is that when things get back to normal, we will all have had a new revelation of living IN Christ.
God loves each and every one of us. And He is always for us no matter what the times look like or how uncomfortable we get. Run to Him this morning and ask Him for insight for this season and learn to rest on His promises. And live, precious believer, in the Light of His wisdom, power and love like never before!
2 Corinthians 13: 14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.
Hebrews 4: 11-12 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following the same pattern of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
Psalm 23: 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Job 42: 5 I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees You.
