Have you ever gone grocery shopping when you were hungry? I have and did so again yesterday after a long tiring day. As I pushed my cart through Walmart with a buggy chocked full of comfort food several college age young men passed by me. In a glance at my buggy loaded with goodies one of the guys stopped and said “Can we go home with you?” We both laughed and I then realized I had not really made smart choices filling my buggy with those good tasting comfort foods. Immediately my mind went to ‘shopping when hungry results in poor choices.’ Then the thought came to mind that doing anything in life when I am spiritually empty also results in poor choices. Oh, I long to be a woman who regularly feeds on the Word and is spiritually full so that the choices I make will glorify my Father in Heaven!
Galatians 5: 13, 16
“For you were called to live in freedom brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh but through love serve one another… So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.” (NLT)
