Sock Ministry Blessing

Hubby needed fresh socks to go with his clothes for today. I was in a hurry so I grabbed some clean ones out of the laundry and knew he could pick out a matching pair. Socks have a way of causing a mess. They either lose their pairs through the laundry or they lay around right where they’ve been taken off. But you know what? This morning I am reminded that socks laying around means life.

Oh beloved, do you know? Have you heard? This life you have is wonderful. You get to pick up socks, wash dishes, prepare meals and do it all again over and over. But without those everyday details of life, there isn’t much life is there? Proof that there are people alive and waking up daily in your house is a gift.

Often the most precious gifts are the ones we can’t see with the natural eye. And God wants you to know this morning that you have precious gifts all around you. Even your own ability to wake up and restart the day, doing tasks and making choices – those are gifts. And you are gifted to keep on doing the everyday things. Ordinary becomes extraordinary in your hands because you are born again. Life lived in the Higher Power of the Lord makes everything better and much more golden. You are needed, wanted and purposed for this very day. Don’t waste it crying over discarded socks or discarded hopes. Grab it all up, pray over it all and ask God to show you the supernatural ways of every day.

God loves you and He’s for you. He alone is the Supreme Ruler of all, including you. Keep your eyes on Him as you live this day and watch as He makes it all pure gold as you rejoice that your house is messy enough to be lived in and happy enough to prove that He is with you as His gift of love to you.

Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.

Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, and the plans You have for us–none can compare to You–if I proclaim and declare them, they are more than I can count.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who by grace has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good word and deed.
