As a little girl I was not exposed to church much. My parents didn’t attend. But one of my earliest recollections of church was with a baby sitter. I spent the night with her and her children and she went to church. So the next morning being Sunday I went with them. I don’t remember much about the service except the altar. When this sweet dear Christian lady went down to the altar to pray I went too. When she knelt I knelt. It just seemed natural to follow her lead. I feel the Lord saying to me that she prayed for me, maybe all her life. Her example and her prayers helped formulate my faith life even way back then.
Oh beloved, you’ve been leading people to the altar – both by example at church and through prayer day in and day out. You’ve been wondering if it even makes a difference. You are not seeing all the fruit of your heart’s desires. You’re beginning to think it’s fruitless, pointless and impossible.
The Lord says to you (and to all of us who are praying) keep praying. Keep seeking. Keep knocking. Your prayers are changing things in the heavenlies, whether you see it or not. He says that He delights in the prayers of His people. He rejoices in the sound of intercession. And He is the God of suddenlies and turnarounds. Just when you think it might be time to give up is the very moment that everything could become an unprecedented move of His Spirit. He loves the one you pray for more than you do! He is calling and wooing and speaking to their heart even when you can see nothing. That heart is beating because the Lord has a call on their life and His call is without repentance. While you can’t make a thing happen in the flesh, you are routing the demons, rebuking the enemy and setting the captive free every time you pray!
God loves you and He’s for you. Pray! Believe! Get ready! And don’t believe the enemy when he says it’s hopeless. He lies always. But God says that effectual righteous prayer avails much! Just as my testimony includes a praying woman you can be sure prayers get answered. Rejoice as you seek God’s face and give a heavenly report walking in the light of His truth and grace!
Ephesians 6: 18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
Luke 18: 1 “Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart”
Colossians 4: 2 “Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.”
