But just like school, there’s always something new to learn at work. And even the old, regular processes of doing things, I sometimes have to reread the instructions to make sure I follow all the steps to have the right outcome. Reading instructions educates us and reiterates our knowledge. Both kids and adults alike have to keep reading.
Oh beloved, whether you work, stay at home or go to school, there is always time and need to read. Get instruction and gain new education in areas of our lives.
But when we read the Word of God it does more than just educate us. You beloved, are more than just a learner. The Word is more than a mere book. From Genesis to Revelation it is revolutionary. When you, God’s own child, full of Holy Spirit, read the Bible it inoculates you. It empowers you. It restores, uplifts and motivates you. Reading it for mere knowledge and study will teach you fundamental truth about characters, places and things. But reading by power of Holy Spirit, it will be breathed into you! Amazing isn’t it? We who are born again have the assignment to know God intimately and to follow Him uncompromisingly. You beloved, are born again and changed from death to life. And as you ingest His Word as your necessary food, you are changed again – from glory to glory! We may all still be able to recall things we learned in school, but the Word is Spirit and Life. When you read the Word you are infused with wisdom, power and love. You are more than a human being trying to make it spiritually. You are a born again believer, born from above, with the unction of Holy Spirit and the power of Christ’s Resurrection residing in you! What an amazing life you have available to you!
God loves you and He’s for you! Change in life is inevitable. But being changed by new birth is astounding and miraculous and impossible to receive by mere education. Run to the Lord this morning and ask Him for fresh fire, fresh infilling and fresh ability to receive what the Word says for you in this New Year. Ask Him for a Scripture or a Word that will be your signal all through the year. And live, precious believer, in the Light of His Word for everything you need for life and godliness!
