Stay the Course

Day by Day Devotions

Philippians 1:6   “Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (KJV)

(Yes, I know that deals with confidence, lol, but it also encourages us to stay focused!) If we really want to see God’s will accomplished in our lives, we have to stay the course. I’ll leave you with an experience I had recently…

Once again, I found myself trying to “help” the Lord with His plans for me, lol. There was an opportunity coming up soon that would probably be a good stepping-stone for different facets of my ministry.

There was just one problem – I didn’t feel comfortable with taking that opportunity! As I sat there pondering that particular possibility, I started to think of other ways I might could see results…none of which I actually wanted to go through.

My mind went back to the specific vision the Lord has given me, the way I feel the Spirit want s me to go. Out of nowhere, in the midst of all these other thoughts, I clearly heard, “Stay the course.” Well, that settled it! Without a doubt, I know what my “expected end” is (in this phase, at least), and that is where I’ll concentrate my efforts.

The point is, when God gives you a direction, don’t try to take any short-cuts. He knows the destination and the route He wants you to take…Stay the course.
