The other day we were talking about getting stitches and realized that all our immediate family has gotten stitches at some point in time. Accident prone? Probably. I know I can remember the Coke bottle tent that collapsed on one child’s forehead and the eyebrow gash one got from running around a cedar chest. And the stitches in another’s arm for a medical test as a tiny baby. Goodness, this mother won’t forget those at all. Most of the stitches are almost imperceptible now all these years later. But the memory, including my own stitches, remains.
Oh beloved, stitches come when we have gashes and brushes with trouble. Maybe you too have had stitches. But there’s another kind of injury that may never be seen by anyone else. It’s the brushes with heart troubles – fear, sorrow, rejection, worry, condemnation and more. These cause deep scars, especially at the hands of another. You’ve stitched yourself up and hoped for the best.
But there’s hope for you and all who have received inner wounds. The Lord Himself made a way. Jesus bore all our sorrows and by His stripes we are healed. He came to give new life for old wounds. He came to heal scars and rejuvenate gashes in life.
He doesn’t just save for heaven. He makes old things new. He captures the tears but He also dries them as well. You may think you have to live with the grief forever. But God’s plan is for goodness and mercy to follow you all the days of your life rather than those old wounds. You’re not a victim of what happened in the past. You are a overcomer who has received true healing from Above!
God loves you and He’s for you. That’s why you can trust Him as you allow Him to minister healing to your mind, body and soul. Praise Him for His bountiful love and tender care. And live healed and set free from the scars of life in Jesus’ Name.

Isaiah 53:4 However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore, And our pains that He carried; Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, Struck down by God, and humiliated.
Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, LORD, and I will be healed; Save me and I will be saved, For You are my praise.
Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
