The hardest enemy to defeat is the idols we hold close to our heart. We’re surrounded by evil every day and it seems to be getting worse. We make bad decisions, not thinking of the affects it may have on others. We compromise and tell ourselves that this one time won’t matter. You can’t fight this battle alone. Give it to God, every little detail. Make God the hero in your life. Stop trying to abandon God and pretend that this thing you’re doing is not a sin. 1 Corinthians 10:14 – “Therefore, my dear friends, flee from …
Spiritual Atrophy
Our household recently experienced an illness that passed through our entire home and it took about two weeks to recover from it. In that time frame, try as I might to get up and live life like I wasn’t put out, I had to succumb sometimes to just lying in bed. While to some that sounds like a pleasant break, I was truly struggling with it. I wanted to be up and active. In that time frame, the muscles in my legs and arms atrophied a bit. Wars and Rumors of War
Matthew 24:6 “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Choose Your Battles Well
There’s a big discussion going on social media between the early decorating versus waiting to decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. We have been in both camps. One year early in our marriage I was pregnant and having some problems so there was no going into the woods. Thankfully my hubby bought our tree just a day or two before Christmas while he was training In Little Rock. We’d never had pre cut tree! We finally decided to use artificial trees later because we couldn’t agree on which tree to cut. I always wanted a tree that truthfully was too big …
Victory
We celebrated Memorial Day in rehab hospital. It reminded me that my dad was a highly decorated war veteran. Both world wars saw him in the line of duty. He was enlisted and sent overseas both times. He had some battle scars but his valiant fighting gave him rewards. My husband has been enlisted and so have I. He did not choose this battle but he has fought valiantly. And he is victorious. Oh beloved you didn’t choose the battle but you are in it. Everything the enemy could throw at you he has. You want to run …
