I love word studies! I don’t even know if I ever had potential. Perhaps. Latent qualities or abilities that may be developed and lead to future success or usefulness. If I read the Word right, I have potential – the latent ability to fall on my face. The Word goes on to describe us all – sinners that fall short of the glory of God, deceitfully wicked hearts, like sheep that have gone astray, not one of us is righteous. Let’s stop there. Pursuit
I grew up in a home where the world stopped for sports. It was tedious living during football especially. Men ate Thanksgiving dinner in front of that televised game. Power
Storms rolled through our state recently. It reminds me that as a teenager we lived in a town where the electricity almost always went out when stormy weather came. My dad would use his huge flashlight (didn’t all dads have huge silver flashlights back then?) and mother would bring out the kerosene lanterns. We’d sit together in the darkened living room. Pretty soon we’d be singing old hymns and having wonderful conversations about life. Possible Out of Impossible
God loves impossible situations. My first experience with a computer was to have one put on my desk at a new job. I knew how to type and do basic office work but I had never used a computer. In order to be successful at this job I was going to have to do something I’d never done before. I didn’t run from the unknown, I just attempted to go forward.
