Funny but this morning I remember a time when one of my favorite vases was broken by one of my children. I was heart broken. Now I can say that I wish that was the most heart breaking thing I’ve ever endured. But we all know about broken hearts. Each of us has our own endurance and have overcome much. Danny’s mom loved and listened to what was then called Country and Western music all the time. One of her favorites was Freddy Fender. Now Freddy wasn’t his real name. He was actually born Baldemar Garza Huerta but changed his name legally in 1958. He thought he could sell records better with a simpler name. Drinking Living Water

          You survived the shipwreck. Finally, swimming and floating, choking and gasping, you wash up on a tiny island. Nothing but sand. And ocean. Drips of sweat tickle your back. Desperate for a drink, you return to the beach and drink even more of that ocean. It tastes nasty, but you swallow it, and it seems to quench your thirst. But minutes later you’re violently sick, and even thirstier. Miserable, you sit on the wet sand at the edge of the water. Soon, water laps at your ankles, so you scoot back, and back some more. …

No More Fog

Some friends took a trip to the mountains recently. January in Arkansas can be interesting weather to say the least. It was mid-week and winter and amazingly they were the only guests at their destination. The scenery there is absolutely breathtaking, along with the wildlife which is always on for show. The only problem was the fog. It was so foggy they could not see anything, not even out their hotel room’s window.
