Bloom!

The jonquils are blooming here and there in our area. The up and down temperatures are causing a stir in nature. It’s amazing to me that these lovely flowers will bloom even in the snow and not die. Oh beloved, bloom! Bloom where you are planted. Bloom out of season. Bloom when all in the natural wants to stunt your life. It’s not about having things right and perfect that you are able to bloom. It’s because your roots are grounded in Christ. This is not the season to cut off the blooms and discard your beauty. It’s time to …

Individuals are Accountable

What is God’s Will for Your Life?  In I Thessalonians, we learn that God’s Will for us is our sanctification. ( I Thess. 4:3)  Sanctification is God’s work in us as we grow spiritually, living in holiness pleasing and honoring Him. We are set apart for service and holiness.  It is a process of maturing in our faith and becoming more and more like Jesus. The hymnist gives us direction: “Take time to be holy, Speak oft with thy Lord; Abide in Him always, And feed on His Word; Make friends of God’s children, Help those who are …

You’re No Conditional Winner With Christ

Sometimes I sign up to win stuff. LOL Especially if it’s something that gives a prize that is useful. Like a pickup truck or a vacation. There was one I was looking at that had prizes from our state, so I was especially interested. I clicked the link and then the form to fill out. So far so good. Then I saw that you had to “join” to submit your entry. Okay, it was a good cause for sure. But you also had to pay a membership fee to enter. Okay, the fees go for a great cause …

Sock Ministry Blessing

Hubby needed fresh socks to go with his clothes for today. I was in a hurry so I grabbed some clean ones out of the laundry and knew he could pick out a matching pair. Socks have a way of causing a mess. They either lose their pairs through the laundry or they lay around right where they’ve been taken off. But you know what? This morning I am reminded that socks laying around means life. Oh beloved, do you know? Have you heard? This life you have is wonderful. You get to pick up socks, wash dishes, prepare meals …

Detours Don’t Deter

When I went into town a couple of days ago there was a sign up that said Highway 51 closed to through traffic. I assumed it was out past the bridge. Later when I drove down Pine Street, I was surprised that it was in the middle of town that the street was closed and detour signs were posted. When detours in life come our way we can be very surprised. We assume it won’t happen where we are, but a detour is better than an accident. We have to heed the signs and follow God no matter what. Oh beloved, …

You’re Worth The Blessing

Danny and one of his best buds spent the evening sitting with yet another best bud.  They did this to help his wife be able to come visit with us at a women’s retreat.  So I got to be with two of my besties as well!  Doesn’t God do amazing things for us? Oh beloved, God wants to do amazing things for you! He already has.  But He also knows your heart’s desires.  Deep things down inside you haven’t shared with anyone.  Maybe you’ve hardly whispered in prayer to the Father about it. He says watch for it.  Watch how …

Constant Communication

Communication with my husband is interesting at this time to say the least. This couple who is used to morning and evening talks as well as all through the day is learning new ways to get our words understood. Body language is becoming more important as words don’t simply flow right now. We find that it’s important to focus on each other for health and healing. Oh beloved, whatever issues of life you are dealing with you can have constant communication available with the Lord. As you learn to rely on Him you will be getting your cues from Holy …
