Justice

Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is looking. Dishonesty is the opposite. But, justice rules in the end. No one likes to think of God as an angry, mean God, but He will not let sin go unpunished. History shows that justice will eventually come to all. Because of the law of justice, we receive blessings when we obey God’s commandments. The law of justice also demands that a penalty be paid for every sin we commit. Jesus paid that penalty for us. Do the right thing, always. Trust in God to bring the justice …

A Mother’s Love

Isaiah 66:13 – “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.” Giving birth to my two kids was the greatest blessings. The bond between mother and child is like no other. There have been seasons of joy, laughter, love and inevitably worry. God has been at my side every step of the way. From scraped knees to wedding bells to grandchildren, God has been a constant through it all. When I think of the love I have for my children and my grandchildren it doesn’t come close to the love …

Time To Enjoy

I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and do good while they live. -Ecclesiastes 3:12   The Israelites celebrated the victory of David and his men. The Israelites celebrated their escape from Egypt. There were several festivals from the Bible that they celebrated and enjoyed from time to time. If there is someone who loves enjoyment and happy gatherings, it is God. God is the author of joy. Even Jesus celebrated and performed his first miracle, turning water into wine at a wedding. God loves making people happy because he loves us. …

The Mountain Top

In the early times in the Bible, the significance of a mountain was great. It’s where the temple was built. It’s where Christ hung on the cross. But in real time scenarios, it’s the greatest blessings of God. We’ve all been there. Weddings, births, etc. The valleys also remind us of God’s great power. His deliverance from these experiences are the greatest gifts in life. Thank God for carrying me through the valleys and meeting me on the mountaintops. Psalms 90:2 – “Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to …

Abundant Blessings

Did you know that God loves blessing His people. If you’re a parent, you know the feeling of giving your kids things and the joy it brings. Or a friend that loves giving to others. Imagine this on a greater scale as God blesses His children, even when they don’t deserve it. But these blessings come with a price. That price has already been paid by Christ, for all of our past and future sins. God sent His only Son to come to earth and die for each one of us. Grace is a gift we don’t deserve, while mercy …

Accept the Crumbs and God Will Make Loaves

It’s amazing how sometimes we think that God owes us so much more than we deserve.  We possess bigger homes, better jobs, bigger cars and even more money.   How is it that we fall short of seeing the blessings in the smaller things? A remarkable story is told in Matthew 15:21-28, when the Canaanite woman pours from her needy soul in desperation of her demon possessed daughter.  She wasn’t searching for the finer things of life. She was only searching for a man who could provide her with what she needed most.  As she fell upon her knees, she …

Count Your Blessings

It’s hard to be thankful when nothing is going right in your life.  I know that God is faithful.  He’s our guard and protector from the evil things of this world. God’s plans and His timing are always perfect.  I have so many things to be thankful for. I have so many blessings poured out to me every day.  I have a family, a home, a job and friends.  I can serve God without being persecuted, and I can praise God openly and not worry about being shot or ridiculed for my faith. I do thank God each day for my blessings.  Friends, God …

Missed Blessings

I spent most of my early adult years trying to do life on my own terms. Looking back, I see so many lost blessings; so many gifts from God that I rejected. Oh, I did thank God occasionally for an answered prayer or an unanticipated favor. At best, I had temporal faith. As long as I was getting what I thought I should have, I was grateful. But this is no way to live life. I was trying to be my own god. Not even trying to understand what God was doing, I missed out on blessings He had for me. Until the day I …

Coffee and Life Can Jolt Us!

I was intrigued by the new brand of coffee I spied. 50% of proceeds goes to veterans. Loved that! So instead of picking up our usual brand I picked up a bag of this new brand’s Rise and Shine light roast. Well when I made the pot of coffee it was delicious. But within a few minutes My chest hurt and I found myself jittery. I realized that this coffee actually has more caffeine, so I got a jolt to start my day! What do you drink of first thing? The troubles of the day, the losses you have had, the …

Thankfulness

Faith always says thank you before God’s provision Danny blessing our meals is especially wonderful! He couldn’t for a while. In the beginning his words were mere whispers and his thoughts were jumbled. We thanked the Lord for meals anyway. As healing progressed his words came more naturally. Yes blessing the meal is especially wonderful to me now. Oh beloved. Your words may seem jumbled to you. You may not know in the natural if it’s worth it. After all you know what it looks like and you know how it feels. But faith says thank you even before God’s …

Those Gifts!

Every gift our 6 year old granddaughter received was her favorite! As each package was opened she remarked that she adored it, it was wonderful, it was something she always wanted. Once she opened it and said “I love it!” And then she said “What is it?” We all laughed. She lit up the room with her praise and thankfulness. She did receive things she had asked for, but other gifts were things she hadn’t thought about. Nevertheless she loved them all. Everything that came to her was unwrapped and enjoyed. Her joyfulness was contagious and sincere. Let’s face it. …
