Good Possibilities

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” –Matthew 19:26 Life is full of possibilities. God is a God of good possibilities. He has stored and is prepared good possibilities for you. The Bible says that he has plans for you. When I was little, I dreamt of becoming a doctor. But God had other plans. God planted a different possibility in my life. He inspired me to be a writer. God had planted a possibility in your life as well. Look at your talents and skills and see how …

Be My Witnesses

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:10 Jesus gave marching orders to new believers to explain our assignments: 1) Go into all the world and preach the gospel and 2) Be my witnesses unto the ends of the earth.  Created, Designed, Called, Chosen, and Empowered! Because of the eyewitness testimony of men like John and Paul, we have the New Testament instructions to teach us. ”…these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of …

When NO is the Answer

As a parent, often it pained me to say “no.” When we ask God for something and He says “no,” how do we react? Do we get angry or curse God? Looking back on my life, I’ve seen times where God clearly said no. Sometimes I couldn’t understand why. Even though we may feel rejected or punished by God, He always knows what’s best, and may be purposely guiding us in a different direction. Accept the unanswered prayer, or the unresolved questions in life, and know that God’s got something better for you. Isaiah 46:11 – “From the east I …

Jesus Christ Is the Glorious Reflection

“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the …

A Call to Dream

As the year is coming to a close I set and purposefully reflecting on the past year. Looking at goals I set, dreams achieved and the work God has done in my life.  I even look at my failures and how I learned and grew from them.  Then I begin to dream. I prayed asking God to draw out the dreams He put in my heart and help me not to dismiss what seems too big or out of reach.  Then I just begin to write about whatever is on my heart.  What my life will look like the next …

A Settled Confidence

Jeremiah 29: 11 tells us of His plans for us. He wants His children to prosper and not fail. Do you believe this to be true? Do you trust God’s plan for your life? Do you have a settled confidence in that God wants only the best for you? What do you do when life doesn’t go as planned? How do you handle a sudden change in plans? Do you panic or fall apart? What does this message say to God? As I look back on my 20’s and 30’s, I see a woman struggling to find her way. Yes, …

No Fairy Tale

Two of my grands rode in the car with me to the big store yesterday. On the way we talked about the Easter Bunny. I told them that I was so sure that he was real that I thought I saw him hopping down my street one Easter morning when I was about 4 years old. Caleb reminded me of the story of seeing Santa in the sky, which of course was us young cousins being taken for a ride by the older cousins who pointed out some starry anomaly in the sky on Christmas Eve (so that parents could …
