Life is Swift

Life is swift. As we age into our adult years, time seems to pass by like a speeding train. It appears one minute we’re in the prime of our life and we wake up one day and we’re a half century old. Oh how I wish I knew now what I did back then. But, I’ve realized that God always gives us what we need at any given time. It may not be what we want, but He promises to meet our needs. Life here on earth is so temporary and short. Life passes so quickly. God gives everyone a …

God’s Curriculum

Not one of us is alike 100%. Even twins have a distinct difference. This is just like God’s plan for each of us. He may be blessing me with time and friends, while He’s blessing others with knowledge and wealth. Try not to compare your life to someone else’s. His plans are sure, true, and faithful. This doesn’t mean that you will never experience problems or trials in life, but you do have an eternal future in Christ spiritually. God’s plan for you is to prosper and grow spiritually in Christ in the very situation you are in …

Mistakes

There have been times when I think that I’ve made the biggest mistake of my life, but it turned out to be the greatest blessing. Never neglect the power of God. Just when you think you’ve got life figured out, God steps in and miracles happen, plans get changed and nothing else matters. Are these all a result of our own mistakes or a miscalculation of God’s timing? You decide. Matthew 6:26-27: “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are …

Will You Trust His Perfect Timing

Ecclesiastes 8:6 (ESV) “For there is a time and a way for everything, Although man’s trouble lies heavy on him.” Surprisingly the first backup camera was used in 1956 on a Buick concept car and it wasn’t until 2014 the US Department of Transportation announced the camera requirement for new cars.  This technology made it easier for drivers to have wider views and see rear images clearly, which assisted drivers maneuvering their cars in a safer manner. As in life, clarity often comes when looking back through the rear-view camera or mirror.  Living with a  mental health diagnosis and …

You Can’t Hurry God, You Just Have to Wait

“Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with Him to come to his house and heal his little girl” (Luke 8:41-42).   Jairus was desperate and we are told that he repeatedly begged Jesus.  If there ever was a time for Jesus to hurry, perhaps getting to Jairus’ house was one of them.  However, Jesus agreed to Jairus’ request so they set out toward his home. While pressing through the crowd, Jairus’ request was delayed by the interruption of a courageous and desperate woman who also needed healing.  Time was not a factor …

Importance of Waiting

Importance of Waiting           God’s timing is perfect always! And when we become tired waiting and run ahead of His plan, we will face disappointment and trouble. I admit it is difficult to pray and wait for God to come to our rescue when we see no visible evidence of His answer to our prayer. But this is where faith is necessary: remember faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Also we need to remember that  “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” Sometimes it is …
