He’s In Our Boat

There are so many different types of boats. Fishing boats, speed boats, canoes, cruise liners, the list goes on. Boats are centuries old and has been a mode of transportation since the days of Jesus. He used a boat to get to different locations. We use them today for travel, sport and leisure. Aren’t we all in the same boat these days? The virus that swept the world still lingers. This is one boat that I’m ready to depart. Life can change in a moment. Just a year ago, I was making plans to go on another mission trip, and …

Staying Positive in Tough Times

We will all face trials in our life. There will be days that it seems nothing is going right and you’ll want to just give up. But, hope is not all lost if you have Jesus in your life. If you had asked me these same pondering questions in my 20’s and 30’s I would probably have different answers. Like, how can you be hopeful when life’s struggles seem endless? If you are reading this, there’s still hope for a better tomorrow. It may not look like you want it to, but Jesus came into this world so that …

What Defines You?

What you do with your life usually defines you. The Bible confirms that our actions are deeply connected with our hearts. If others know you’re a Christian by your actions, that’s a good thing. We shouldn’t be defined by our titles, or status, or by our current circumstances. It’s our hope in God that shows others who we are. Surrender your life to Christ. Set your intentions on things above and let God determine your steps. Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now …

RSVP

Did you know that God is still accepting reservations for Heaven? To get a good table at any busy restaurant, you should have a reservation. In this bustling world, if you haven’t reserved a spot for most events, you’ll most likely not be accepted in. As it is with Heaven, and God. Have you RSVP’d God? Have you accepted His son as your savior? There’s still time. Don’t delay. Ask God into your life today. Revelation 20:15 – “Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of lifewas thrown into the lake of fire.” Dianne Petrey

God’s Amazing Love

Romans 8: 37-39  “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall trouble, hardship, persecution, or nakedness, danger, famine, or sword..No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through …

Walking in the Ways of God’s Love

Are you walking in the ways of God’s love? Are you striving to follow his commands? It’s important in the last days to stay connected to Jesus and his word. Being Forgiven

Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” King David was named as a man after God’s own heart. He was righteous, a man of character and …

Stalled

I wrote a post once about me being stuck on a railroad track, while my truck stalled and wouldn’t move forward. A train was approaching and I was scared. I finally managed to put it into gear and escape a horrible accident. God was in that moment, just as He is in every day of my life. He was trying to get my attention. I gave my life to Christ as a teenager and even then, rebelled and tried to live life on my own. None of us know the mind of God, but I can imagine that it’s hard …

Perfection

Some people strive for perfection. In their job, relationships. They think if they just do this or work harder in that area, it will be perfect. The problem is not the efforts you put into something or someone, it’s the intention or purpose of the efforts. The reality is, outside of God’s grace, we all fall short. Without God in your life, every relationship, every job, it’s a struggle to maintain, to be the best. I’m not saying not to work on those relationships, or fulfill that life long dream/career. I am confident in saying that with God at your …

Hello Devotional

Be ready in season and out of season. 2 Timothy 2:14 says “Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching”. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” Always …

House of Sinners

LUKE 19: 1-10 “Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.5 When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6 So he came down at once and …
