Called to Love

We are called to love another not just with words but with our actions. 1 John 3:18 says “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” Don’t just tell His children that you love them we have to show them by our actions. Call and check on your family, friends coworkers, and whoever the Lord puts in your path. Do a small act of kindness, show them that they are loved. Many people come from dysfunctional families and hear that they are loved and never get to experience what true …

Even Then…

Scripture: Romans 5:8 – “…God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (ESV) Message: “Sometimes we may not be able to see the silver lining behind the dark cloud. But the cross is evidence that it’s there.”(J. D. Greear/ Not God Enough) Our human tendency, especially in the midst of pain is to question God. Our questions might be similar but not limited to; “Where are you, God?, “Why, God?”, and “How long, God?” In my opinion, these questions are fine when asked in the right respect. Loving Others Begins with Loving You

Have you ever been hurt so badly that you cannot hide it?  Or felt pain so deep that it can be seen in your smile?  We have all been there.  We have all experienced pain. Our own heartaches, hurts, brokenness and issues cause congestion and make it hard for us to love God with all our hearts when it is still aching. Mark 12: 30-31 (NIV) “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and …

God-Everlasting Father

When I first gave my life to the Lord, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I was twenty years old, with no religious background other than a handful of Catholic masses I attended with my paternal grandparents. My dad left when I was two and a half, and I had experienced a lot of heartache for such a young girl. By the time I had entered into my teenage years, I had given up on God. I couldn’t understand, if there was a God, why He would allow so much pain in my life. This led me …

You Are A Gift

I saw a funny Christmas graphic recently that I saved and sent to a couple of friends who are having issues. It read “Gonna go lay under the tree to remind my family that I am a gift”. If my hubby caught me laying under the tree he’d wonder what had happened to me! But the truth is – we all need an attitude adjustment. We are a gift. Every single one of us. Oh beloved, Christmas is the perfect time to adjust our attitudes. For some reason, even though the season is wild and wonderful, we often focus on …

Are You A Teacher?

When I was a girl I enjoyed teaching school. Generally school was held in the garage of our home. At one of the places we lived I even had a big chalk board! I assumed I’d grow up and be a teacher. And I did. But not the kind of teacher I thought. God has given me opportunities to teach about Him – and my major is on His love and His care. I needed to know that most of all, so as I learned about Him I have become more proficient at this subject. Proficiency is achieved through wisdom …
