Sit Still and Listen

Often times I am asked how do you hear from the Lord? I want to hear from Him but it’s silent in my prayer time, but can’t. The Lord’s presence can be found in silence, humility and openness to His voice. Sometimes the Lord just wants us to sit still and ask. Often times when I am seeking His answers I must quiet myself down and read a scripture, like Psalm 23 Psalm 23:2-6 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. …

The World Changes but God Doesn’t

As we are seeing the world change and our lives change as well, it’s difficult to readjust to new ways or as many would say the “new normal”. What does the future hold and how do we face what is ahead? Jesus faced many trials on earth, His focus wasn’t the things of this world but giving Himself over completely to His Father, knowing full well of what was to come.   John 16:33  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I …

Give Your First Fruits

Each day when I wake, I pray first, giving God the first fruits of my day, when you do that, it honors God and puts Him first in the day. Take the first few moments  to praise Him in advance for what He’s going to do .Pray that He will bring someone into your life that needs to know about Him, pray for others and your needs-pray for a good healthy day and for protection for whatever may come your way. Give others time to talk to you, maybe God has sent them to you for a reason, a need …

Faith in Action

How do you trust that you will know the right way to go? The Lord prepares His people to expect the unexpected and to have faith when it’s too hard to see what’s ahead. Having faith doesn’t mean you sit back and wait till God works, you must step out and see where God will take it. Sometimes when you step out you could see nothing, or it could be right away, but whatever His plan keep praying for whatever your needs are. He will provide the highest and best good for you.    Hebrews:11-1-3  Now faith is confidence …

A New Beginning

Pentecost always reminds me of a “new beginning” when the Holy Spirit comes upon the disciples as they prayed, that’s when they saw the glory of God rest upon themselves and readied their hearts for the journey ahead. Now if you follow Christ you know that the Holy Spirit renews you when you are born again because that gift is given to you to lead and guide you along. The Holy Spirit is a treasure that no one can explain in their spirit but that person- the joy is personal the love is overwhelming and meets you where you …

What Sets You Apart

How many of us that follow Christ are misunderstood because when dedicating ourselves to Jesus is our priority, people will not understand. If you have experienced push back or rejection it is just as Jesus told us that we will experience this, that no matter how hard we try to bring someone to Christ they still resist, Jesus knows you are trying but sometimes that person needs to come either through someone else or on their own. Our work is to pray for them even if you have been hurt by rejection. Don’t give up or give in, that person …

Your Season Will Change

Ecclesiastes 3: 1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” Have you been going through a rough time in your life?  Are doors closing in on you and not opening?  You are not alone!  During your life walk with Christ you will face many trials and rough patches that you feel you didn’t deserve. You see things closing when you clearly prayed for an opening. Closed doors are a blessing but you don’t know that when it’s happening to you. You may have prayed, waited and expected God to answer a dream …

New Hearts

Ezekiel 11: 19 “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” When God changes your heart, you are changed forever. He gives you a new transformed heart, one that is pliable and ready to be used. From a hardened one to one made of flesh. My heart was pretty hard before I came to Christ, I would justify saying or doing things to people that were not very nice, when Jesus saved me my heart began to change. …

Grace Beyond Our Expectation

What is grace and how is it defined? dictionary.com defines it as -courteous will, a divinely given talent or blessing In the Bible, scriptures says:  “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9 Grace beyond expectation is that no matter what we do, God loves us and grants His grace through our Lord Jesus Christ.  This God’s way of giving us a chance with anything we go through, even though we don’t deserve it. Decisions We Make

Proverbs 16: 9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps”. As a Christian woman I have learned that in my walk with God that whatever I have done, He has forgiven me.  I can’t keep looking back at the things that didn’t happen and I had to learn to move forward. Many times when I pray the past comes back to my memory to dredge it all up again. satan will always pick prayer time in an attempt to discourage me and fill my mind with things of the past to keep me bound up and …

Consider It All Joy

James 1: 2 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds” These days we are facing many ungodly acts of people in our world. We see the worship of self become more prevalent and the times speak for themselves don’t they? Many are perishing without knowing who God is and what Jesus did for them. This is a sense of urgency in life that you place in your heart and mind: the message of the cross to those who are perishing. 1 Corinthians 1: 18 “For the message of the cross is …
