He covers the heavens with clouds; He prepares rain for the earth; He makes grass grow on the hills. Psalm 147:5 (ESV) During drought like seasons and during the journey inside of the wilderness, what a wonderful reminder of what He does, can do and has done. With worldly outside circumstances, we may become sidetracked by the things of “this world.” We may not be able to control certain elements, but we can control what and who we trust in. So my question for you is, who do you trust in? Who do you believe in? If God can …
Good Fight of Faith
This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it. The worries of yesterday cannot affect you today. Rise up friends, today is a new day. Philippians 4:4 declares “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Take some time to rejoice in what the Lord has done for you. If He woke you up and you have breath Rejoice, He is don’t done with you. He has a plan fo your life, now is not the time to give up and give in. Isaiah 41:9-10 says …
It’s Been A Rough Day
As I woke up one morning in April I was reminded of the polio outbreak of the early 50’s. In the United States, the 1952 epidemic was the worst outbreak in the nation’s history, and is credited with heightening parents’ fears of the disease. Of the 57,628 cases reported that year 3,145 died and 21,269 were left with mild to disabling paralysis. I remember the fear. And I remember the sugar cubes with pink medicine that would prove to eradicate the dreaded disease forever in the US. I also remember knowing people who had contracted the disease. Oh beloved, why …
Sheet Changing Day
We’ve all found comfort in daily busy-ness. But now God is calling us to find our comfort in Him alone. Yesterday was sheet changing day. That meant the pillow cases as well. So that meant that all the pillows were in the floor without cases. When I went to put the fresh sheets on the bed I also put pillow cases on all the pillows and placed them back in their spots. I evidently got the right pillows on hubby’s side of the bed. He slept fine. But I must have picked the wrong pillows for my side. I …
Fearlessly Stand Our Ground
Coming back from an early morning trip to town last week I spied one of the biggest buck deer I’ve ever seen. He was just majestically standing in an open field. Must have been at least a 10 point. He looked so fearless with his head up and standing completely still. Oh beloved, that encounter reminds me of God’s provision and promises. Both are linked to our walk with Him. As we fearlessly stand our ground against the enemy we have nothing that can stand against us. He provides all our needs. He remains faithful to us. He walks us …
What About That Mountain?
We went up on the mountain this past weekend. The first time my husband took me on the Talimena Scenic Drive was back in 1973 and it was on a gold Honda motorcycle. I should say attempted, because back then there were no trees lining the ride up. It was not so pleasant and finally I asked him to please turn around. We didn’t make it all the way to the lodge then. The next attempt was later and it was some easier for me. Finally, after all these years, it’s a piece of cake. We know that road like …
God’s Word
Yesterday two things happened to acquaintances that just floored me. One received a text meant for another person. It was rude and maligning about the person who received the text. Oh my. The other person was supposed to be on hold but it didn’t work, so they heard the diatribe about themselves over the phone line. Oh beloved, you are so special to the Lord. It might be that you’ve been through this type of situation. It could have been recently or on the playground or the party line many years ago. It still hurts. You may not have ever …
