Reflections from Corinne’s Garden: God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise “Let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name” –Hebrews 13:15 May the Lord open our eyes to see His glorious Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise before us this week? The backdrop for this week together is a lovely garden where I spent many years with my disabled granddaughter Corinne. Behavior issues prevented us from going out in public, as a result we came so often that I lovingly named it Corinne’s Garden. Wandering …
After Diagnosis
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.” Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:6-8 After my diagnosis, I prayed constantly. I filled my life with prayer, devotionals, …
His Glory Our Comfort
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He will give it to you.” John 16:23b (ESV) I prayed many years for my husband to be healed of his anxiety and depression, before fully recognizing my motive for this prayer may not align with God’s plans. Monday: Scripture: Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by supplication and prayer, present your petitions to God, and His peace which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. This is wonderful advice, but at age almost one hundred three. still I have not attained that goal; however, believe that I have made some progress. But need to remind myself that if I trust God completely, there will be no room for anxiety. So my prayer is for our Father in heaven to increase your faith and mine. Amen. Doris Lisemby …
Need Wisdom? Ask God
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 One short verse, but so much truth here! Let’s unpack it together: Humility The verse begins, If any of you lacks wisdom. In order to receive, we must first acknowledge we lack it! A prideful heart resists asking for help. Self-sufficiency is a chief stumbling block to attaining wisdom. Ask God God is the source of wisdom. When we go looking elsewhere, true wisdom will elude us. At best, we will get a band-aid rather …
