Housekeeping Day 4

As a girl I remember going to my friend’s house and they were cleaning windows. They had old toothbrushes and they were scrubbing every inch of the window, from wood frames to glass panes.  I joined them! Their example seemed like fun to me. As I looked out my window this morning in the kitchen I realized I need to clean my windows too. It’s been a while. Without cleaning the panes I won’t be able to see the full beauty of the world around me. Oh, beloved, has your view of the world gotten dingy? Are you unsure if …

Housekeeping Day 3

I’m going to make a confession to you. My closets have not been organized nor cleaned out in quite a while. I have this deep seated dream to walk into each one and find everything in order. It’s impossible if I keep just throwing stuff into the recesses of the area. So one morning I decided to clean out the closet in our master bedroom.  It was a daunting task but eventually I had four bags of clothes that went to a local charity. Now I can see the floor and eventually I’ll get to the shelf! LOL But for …

Housekeeping Day 2

She didn’t wait until there was overflowing laundry or messy floors – she did things a little at a time every day. Oh beloved, are you feeling the load …

Housekeeping

If you’re like me there seems to be precious little time to keep house these days. Early this morning as I was putting my makeup on I noticed the runners in the shower doors were full of crud! How had I not noticed this before! I clean the walls regularly, but somehow had missed this area. Deep in the recesses of metal and glass were areas I had not dealt with. Obviously I had let this go! I decided I needed my eyes checked and proceeded to clean them then and there. I knew I would probably forget it if …

A Yielded Heart: Rebekah’s Story

As a little girl I would recite the wishes of childhood. “Star bright, star light, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight!” But always, as long as I can remember I would always end it with “Dear Jesus, please hear me”. Jesus was always a focal point in my life. My first answered prayer that I could visibly see was at 7 when I prayed diligently for a baby doll and on Christmas morning that exact doll was present under the tree. You may say, well your …
