Be Stirred Not Shaken

“Not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word..” 2 Thessalonians 2: 2-3 (ESV) All I can say is that it has been an interesting few weeks. I think we all can agree that life as we know it will NEVER be the same. It can rattle the mind and distress our spirit if we are not careful and over the last few days as I watched the news, read social media posts and studied the statistics regarding the rate at which this virus is increasing, I thought to …

A Pregnant Pause

Have you been wondering lately what God is trying to convey to you in this season we are all in or is it just me? I had a recent conversation with a group of friends that I pray with every Thursday evening and I mentioned that I felt like I was on pause and needed prayer in order to learn the lesson that I need to learn to graduate to the next level that God is taking me to. Seek Him First

As moms and women we race out of bed for the really important stuff… Big meeting… Baby crying… Getting the kids to school…. For some of you it’s been indeed decades. Are you hoping that it will make a difference in your life – this thing you are searching for? God wants you to know this morning that He is the Searcher – …

What’s Missing

Sometimes what’s not there is even more telling than what is: Thanksgiving dinner with no turkey leaves a huge whole on the dinner table A car up on blocks with no wheels tells a sad story– you’ve been robbed. Did your kids try to play the “last puzzle piece game” at your house? Sneak out a piece and hide it just so they could be the one to put in the last piece? No matter how beautiful the rest of the scene, our eye is drawn to that gaping hole. In I Samuel Chapter 4, the Israelites go out …

Whole Heart Living

While looking for a particular photo I came across one of two of my grandsons who are brothers. They were sitting at my piano and one was obviously singing with all his heart. The other one was fiercely playing the piano with total abandon. They were enjoying themselves thoroughly. What makes for the best life and the most fun? Wild abandonment and releasing anything that wants to hold you back. The Word contains phrases like “with all your heart” from the Old to the New Testament. There must be something to that phrase. Oh beloved, don’t you want to just …
