God Equips Us

I took piano lessons from age nine to seventeen. I diligently practiced each piece my teacher gave me to learn, then moved on to the next and the next, and so on. By eighth grade, my piano teacher arranged for me to audition for a scholarship to a music conservatory. I played a Bach Invention and other pieces I can’t remember. The end result was an offer to study at the music conservatory as a full scholarship student. For the next three years, I studied and played the pieces required for entry to the conservatory once I graduated from …

Be My Witnesses

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:10 Jesus gave marching orders to new believers to explain our assignments: 1) Go into all the world and preach the gospel and 2) Be my witnesses unto the ends of the earth.  Created, Designed, Called, Chosen, and Empowered! Because of the eyewitness testimony of men like John and Paul, we have the New Testament instructions to teach us. ”…these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of …

He Gives Us Everything We Need

God’s Word (the Bible) is a gift from God to His followers. Without it, we would be walking around in the dark, trying to figure out how to please God. The Bible is our guidebook to life. Do you understand what ‘forgiveness of sins’ is? God is the only one that has the power and authority to forgive you for every sin you committed, and He does this through His son, Jesus. We should be thankful that God gives us everything we need to survive this life, but more importantly, He gives us the tools we need to …

Your Gift

We have several pecan groves we harvest. There is a lot of work before harvest time begins. Limbs that have broken off will have to be picked up and moved, so our harvester can scoop up the nuts without having limbs stuck in it. Some trees refuse to release their fruit by hanging on to them tightly, so we have a shaker to shake them loose when this happens. Then there are those trees whose fruit is halfway decent, meaning some of the nuts are good, and some have nothing but dried up meat or wormholes all in …

Talent to Serve

John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me” Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 1 Samuel 12:24 “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” Jesus washed the feet of his disciples (John 13:4-17); a very unusual action on his part at that time …

Lighthouse

Matthew 5:16  “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”   As believers, we need to let our light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. We all play an important role in His kingdom, do not let the enemy take that from you. Everything we say and do should glorify our Father In heaven. He has bestowed unique gifts upon every one of us, what are you doing with them? You may be …

Qualified

In the past several years I have learned so much about how to become the person God intended me to be…how to live out my faith and what that means. This is such a process and I am still learning so much, but I love the idea of passing on what God is using to shape me to help others. One of the biggest lessons seems so simple but it has really changed the way I look at how to live out my faith. God has given us all gifts and talents to enable us to put our faith into …
