Be My Witnesses

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.”  Ephesians 2:10 Jesus gave marching orders to new believers to explain our assignments: 1) Go into all the world and preach the gospel and 2) Be my witnesses unto the ends of the earth.  Created, Designed, Called, Chosen, and Empowered! Because of the eyewitness testimony of men like John and Paul, we have the New Testament instructions to teach us. ”…these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of …

He Gives Us Everything We Need

God’s Word (the Bible) is a gift from God to His followers. Without it, we would be walking around in the dark, trying to figure out how to please God. The Bible is our guidebook to life. Do you understand what ‘forgiveness of sins’ is? God is the only one that has the power and authority to forgive you for every sin you committed, and He does this through His son, Jesus. We should be thankful that God gives us everything we need to survive this life, but more importantly, He gives us the tools we need to …

Your Gift

We have several pecan groves we harvest. There is a lot of work before harvest time begins. Limbs that have broken off will have to be picked up and moved, so our harvester can scoop up the nuts without having limbs stuck in it. Some trees refuse to release their fruit by hanging on to them tightly, so we have a shaker to shake them loose when this happens. Then there are those trees whose fruit is halfway decent, meaning some of the nuts are good, and some have nothing but dried up meat or wormholes all in …

Talent to Serve

John 12:26 “Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me” Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” 1 Samuel 12:24 “But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.” Jesus washed the feet of his disciples (John 13:4-17); a very unusual action on his part at that time …

Lighthouse

Matthew 5:16  “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”   As believers, we need to let our light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify our Father in heaven. We all play an important role in His kingdom, do not let the enemy take that from you. Everything we say and do should glorify our Father In heaven. He has bestowed unique gifts upon every one of us, what are you doing with them? You may be …

The Moses Model

As I reflect on my life and the people who have impacted it the most, I’ve realized I am always encouraged by the lifestyle of a leader. Those with leadership capabilities have characteristics such as charisma, knowledge and, most importantly, they are the voice of the people. Leaders are visionaries, able to see the big picture while allowing the real experts around them to execute it. Leaders understand that they must be able to convey their insight and ideas in a way that would make anyone believe in its usefulness. Leaders are always on purpose, fulfilling a God-given calling on …

Sufficient Grace

Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. Romans 12: 4-5 Grace is defined by Merriam-Webster as a way of moving that is smooth and attractive, a way that is not stiff or awkward. Grace is the strength beyond your physical limitations to do what only you were created to do. It is given to us individually to bring …

Unshakable Thanks

We are all on a journey.  And as Paul says, we do not travel that journey as those who have no hope (1 Thessalonians 4: 13). We know that we have a Savior sitting at the right hand of the Father who delights in us.  We have the Word of God that is living and active.  We have the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives, giving us gifts to make the best use of our time here on Earth.  And we have the fellowship of other believers to offer friendship, prayer, encouragement and council.  We have hope, and …

I Was Made To Worship by April McCullough

It was at the end of the training season for the Little Rock half-marathon that I remember going to a pre-race dinner.  I was pulling up to the hotel to pick up college friends who were in town for the race. As one friend proceeds to get into the car, she noticed the radio station on the Christian station and commented “April-you still listening to your church music!” I chuckled, not having realized that I indeed was still listening to the same type of music that I listened to while in college.  Yes, even in all my mess I still …

Qualified

In the past several years I have learned so much about how to become the person God intended me to be…how to live out my faith and what that means. This is such a process and I am still learning so much, but I love the idea of passing on what God is using to shape me to help others. One of the biggest lessons seems so simple but it has really changed the way I look at how to live out my faith. God has given us all gifts and talents to enable us to put our faith into …
