On this day headlines are something that really caught my eye this morning. The first from October 11, 1947 was about Chuck Yeager, who became the first person to pass the speed of sound while flying the experimental Bell X-1 plane at an altitude of about 43,000 feet, going 700 miles an hour. Knock Down the Pests
When we went to get ready for bed last night I noticed two areas where those lovely Asian beetles were wadded up. I decided that we didn’t need those little creatures in our bedroom. So I got the vaccum cleaner out and began to dispose of them. Once they were gone I finished getting ready for bed. But now more of them were in the room and they were everywhere. We discovered a small hole where the phone line went through the wall. Danny got his ladder and plugged the hole. But he moved the curtains and the …
