The Hunt

While on the hunt for a particular item we wanted to buy, we found the cheap, the cute and the outrageously priced – all in the same item. We finally went to the standard mega store and found exactly what we wanted for much less. You’d suspect we sacrificed quality or style to save on the item. But no, actually the least expensive was also the best design and made of the most durable material.

The hunt for fulfilment can cost much. And yet, even after spending all a person has, they can still come up with nothing they wanted. As well the search for significance and peace will always cost more. Cheap imitations of life are always costly and never bring any reward.

Oh beloved, God wants you to know this morning that you can have everything you’ve ever needed and the pursuit of that “everything” will be your most fulfilling adventure ever. God even gives us a list of what we need to pursue in I Timothy 6: 11 – pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. This pursuit, the hunt for something of great value, you are in search of will bring you fantastic returns. You may think to yourself “I’m not strong enough or brave enough” but in Christ you are more than able. You may believe the lie that you’re too messed up or you are beyond hope – the God says in Christ you are being made new!

God also wants you to know that cheap imitations of the real life are everywhere. Pursue the Lord. He will never lead you to wander for things that won’t satisfy. He leads you and restores you everywhere He sends you. No need to sacrifice quality for the Spirit filled life is the highest quality living and calling there is. If you cannot afford to pursue your worldly dreams and desires, the Lord wants to remind you that you cannot afford NOT to pursue Him and all His righteousness. That is your promised land – your fulfillment and your real heart’s desire. People will tell you you’re too picky, you’re too into Jesus or you’re too serious about all this – but beloved, you’ve got a holy calling to lay hold of that which is priceless and exquisite and oh so magnificent. You’re not just being a Christian, you are going from the pursuit of the ordinary to the extraordinary. From the search for natural desires to the supernatural. You’ve tasted and seen that the Lord He is good and you’ve been marked for the excellence of a life centered on Christ!

God loves you and He’s for you. He leads you to triumph, He points you to the gold and He gives you a purpose for living. Rejoice that you are right where you should be and gaining what you need as you live in the Light of God’s riches for you!

Psalm 34: 8 – 9 O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him! O fear the LORD, you His saints; For to those who fear Him there is no want.

2 Timothy 2: 22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Psalm 19: 9-10 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.

Matthew 6: 33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
