Yesterday morning we noticed a deer edging along our backyard fence row. Then we noticed another. Turned out to be four deer in all. I tried to get a photo of them, but I never could see but one deer in the photo. I took several photos but only one could be found.
The walk of faith is like that photo of deer. There’s much more there than you see in a photo. The Christian life is full of information that is all needed to display the true story of faith. But we have to look beyond what our eye sees. We have to go deeper than our senses tell us.
Oh beloved, did you know? Have you heard? Jesus died on the cross for your sins to be forgiven. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. But He didn’t just die. He rose again. This rising from the dead gives you new life now. He didn’t just give you a picture of heaven someday. He has a book full of how to live today. Your life may look normal, but it’s now supernatural. Fear, worry, animosity, revenge, legalism, self-desires aren’t in your picture anymore. But wow, the picture of your life is full of magnificent things – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
The lens of faith will reveal more to you as you live for Jesus and believe His Word. It’s absolutely amazing how much more there is to life in Christ. As you dig deeper, even into your old age, you will continue to see more and more life in the Spirit. You aren’t just the sum of the old photos of your past. Those are gone and not even referred to be God. You are the representation of all Jesus has done in you, for you, to you and with you.
God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and ask for more wisdom, power and love. Ask Him to give you insight into living for Him today. And then walk in the Light and live in His Word deeper, stronger and better.
