The Ultimate Peace

All this week we have been looking at ways we can pursue peace instead of perfection. We’ve seen how procrastination and giving into the lies of the world holds us back from pursuing the peaceful life God intends for each of us.

If I could sum up everything we’ve talked about this week in one thought, it would be this:

We need more of the Bible and less of the world.

Or, another way to say it would be, we need to leave Facebook behind and get into God’s book.

My favorite Bible verse is found in Romans 5:1

“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

This is the ultimate peace we should pursue. Peace with God by trusting in Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. We don’t do this by our works, though. It’s only through faith that we can obtain this peace.

I challenge you to look within and acknowledge whether or not you have placed your trust in Jesus. Maybe your salvation experience happened years or even decades ago but you have not been following after Jesus as closely as you should.

Spend some time in prayer and ask God to show you how He wants you to pursue peace in your life.
