The Word is – Woman

What a word for a fabulous Friday morning.  It’s been a week, September was a month, October is on a roll and in fact, the last year has been cray cray! I wouldn’t want to go through any of it again.  But when I think about the Lord and His overwhelming, unbelievable, supernatural love for me I just remember these words…

“Dear Woman, why are you crying?”

Do you know a more beautiful word than woman?  Jesus spoke it first upon His resurrection and He spoke it with love and concern.  He found her looking for Him!

He went on to talk to her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.”

He met her at her most horrendous moment. Not only had her Master been crucified, it appeared that now His body had been taken somewhere.  She was lost, inconsolable, irrational and discouraged.

Then Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher).

Oh beloved woman of God – Jesus has gone nowhere, no one can take Him from you and you cannot be left without His Presence. In the moments of deathly discouragement, He remains alive and with you.  You do not serve a dead mystery. But a fully revealed King!

He calls you by name and He loves you more than life.  You don’t worship a cross, for it is long ago rotted away. You don’t even worship an empty tomb, for no one can find His body there. You serve a Risen Savior!  He calls out to you today “Woman!” and He calls you by name!  Run to Him today and thank Him that Friday wasn’t His last day and neither is it yours! And you get to serve Him with GLADNESS and SINGING all your days!

John 20: 15 “Dear woman, why are you crying?” Jesus asked her. “Who are you looking for?” She thought he was the gardener. “Sir,” she said, “if you have taken him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will go and get him.”

Psalm 100: 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing!

Mark 16: 6 but the angel said, “Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid His body.

Luke 7: 44-47 Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Look at this woman kneeling here. When I entered your home, you didn’t offer me water to wash the dust from my feet, but she has washed them with her tears and wiped them with her hair.  You didn’t greet me with a kiss, but from the time I first came in, she has not stopped kissing my feet.  You neglected the courtesy of olive oil to anoint my head, but she has anointed my feet with rare perfume.  “I tell you, her sins–and they are many–have been forgiven, so she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”
