“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” ~ Romans 8: 28
This is one of my life verses, so it shows up a lot in my, um, life, lol, and probably my writing, too! There is a lot of freedom in this verse, because the bondage of “the here and now” is a dream-killer! I love to just think on the journey I’ve had following the Lord and my dreams, because I can see how all the details, even the little ones and the bad ones, have worked together to get me where I am, and I praise the Lord for that! As I said before, God gives us dreams in order to carry out His work, therefore, we are “the called”. Loving Him is sort of a requirement of being called, lol, so we can be confident in this promise of all things working together for good!
Years ago, I decided that I didn’t want to be another person to take my dreams to the grave, and I hope these devotions have given you a little more confidence in the dreams God has given you. Yes, non-Christians have dreams, too, but they don’t have the freedom that we have through Jesus. They don’t have the ability to rest in Him and stand on these promises He gives to His people. I daresay the road to seeing their dreams fulfilled is a lot harder than ours, because the unrighteous don’t have the security of knowing their steps are ordered by the Lord. I thank my Father all the time for the freedom to dream! I’ve been in a place where I thought that freedom was slipping away, but the Lord knew it and changed the circumstances, so I know He’s still got a plan! If you’ve been given a lot of the “dream genes”, trust in your Jesus-given freedom and see where the journey takes you!
