During modern times we are bombarded with tragic news, and scarcely do we hear news that is uplifting and encouraging. Though we are living in times like Jesus said would happen before He returns for His Bride, we need to hear some encouraging words.
We hear of false ways to find peace and security, but true peace can be achieved only through a relationship with the One who is truth, and a right relationship with our fellow man. For Jesus said, “I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and no lie is of the truth.”
And John wrote that the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. He later told the Jews who believed in Him they would know the truth and the truth would set them free. Believers are to live a different kind of life than unbelievers; Paul wrote in Ephesians that we are to put aside falsehood, and speak truth with our neighbor.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help Your children speak the truth in all circumstances. Even Pharisees, who didn’t like Jesus, sent their disciples to Him saying, “Teacher, we know that You are true and teach the way of God truthfully…” Matthew 22: 16a And we pray and thank You that we can rely on truths found in the Bible. Amen.
