“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;…” ~ Hebrews 12: 2
Our freedom to dream is given by Jesus, the author, the one who writes those dreams on our hearts. That is the beginning of the dream/faith journey. Now, before you get to the end of anything, there has to be a middle. Hebrews 13: 21 tells us what the middle is: “Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Some people don’t realize that God gives us dreams in order to carry out His Kingdom work, and we have to be trained and prepared to do it! So, He uses the middle part of the course to make us “perfect” and “well-pleasing”, equipping us to do His will, which He’s given to us in dream form. We’ve got a beginning and a middle, so there has to be an ending! Jesus is the “finisher of our faith”, which says there is a result to the faith we’ve put in Him. We’re not going to spend our entire lives dreaming, trusting, praying, to not see anything happen – there will be an outcome.
