Truly Valuable

When we watch Antiques Roadshow we almost hold our breath. There’s this feeling that one of these days an item our parents had owned will show up and be worth much money. We laugh whenever we get to watch it, which is rare, but still we enjoy it. It’s amazing how some people come in with an item that looks like nothing. But after it’s appraised – it is truly a collectible of great worth! You hear phrases like “bought at a yard sale for a dollar” or “found it in parents attic”.

The amazing thing about how God places value on someone is so different. No appraiser steps up and makes judgments. No Christ stepped up and made the sacrifice. And His priceless sacrifice makes us of high value.

Oh beloved, the enemy has been lying to you. He whispers harsh nothings into your ear. He brings up old past sins, which make you feel dirty, trashy and ugly. He brings up lying phrases telling you unworthy, unwanted, unfriended, unloved. His desire is to keep you feeling so bad about yourself that you cannot enjoy the present or hope for any future.

But God is here reminding you this day – I AM that I AM. My love for you covers everything. You are a chosen, redeemed, treasured and valuable person to Me. I paid a ransom for you. And because of this your value will remain steady. You will never lose value or lose grace or lose mercy.

He goes on the say that you will never find your worth at the expense of others or at the expense of going outside of His will. He is calling you to stay very close to Him. He will always speak loving phrases and generous callings. He will never bring up past sins, The sins of your youth, the sins of yesterday, are both covered at the cross. Even if you lose your way, you are so valuable that God will come after you as though you are the only one.

God loves you and He’s for you. Respond today by thanking your Father for loving you so much. Thank Him for the power to overcome your past, leave it there, walk with Him and abide there always. Praise Him for the wisdom, power and love He freely pours out on all who seek Him. And rejoice that you are of such high value that you can live worthy with no condemnation all the days of your life.

Psalm 86: 5  “O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.”

Exodus 34: 6  “The LORD passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The LORD! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.”

I Peter 3: 18  “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but He died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but He was raised to life in the Spirit.”
