I have always loved to write. Most of the time it comes so easy. But for almost a year I have struggled to put my thoughts to paper. I have found myself asking God “where are you” and felt most of the time I sat in silence. My heart aching to hear from my heavenly Father. To speak to me in the ways I have felt Him before. Longing for just a whisper. Feeling like God is so far away. That made saying “yes” to writing this blog so much harder. I knew I was going to have to rely on what I know is true and not on my feelings.
I would guess that a lot of us have felt that loneliness before. But what’s great is that Gods promises are true! They don’t have expirations on them. They don’t hold value based off of our lives and what we can do for Him or what we are doing for Him. His word is true!
Joshua 1:9 ….”For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go”
That gives me great comfort. Sometimes the most desperate moments of our souls offers the greatest demonstrations of Gods presence.
God is there when the loss of someone is so great that you physically feel the pain inside.
God is there when the wife wakes up at 3am with her heart breaking over her marriage.
God is there when the teenager is trying so hard to hold on to purity but the culture around them tells them it’s no longer a choice.
God is there when the mother cries herself to sleep over the heart ache of watching her child make choices she can no longer control.
God is there when the doctor doesn’t give answers that will bring immediate healing to the one we love.
God is there for the single women who goes home feeling alone longing for the day that she is chosen for love.
God is there when the writer wants so desperately to hear a word but instead must trust in HIS WORD.
God is there! He feels your pain, He knows your ache, He is the healer, He is the one that restores, He chose YOU and loves YOU. He is there no matter the circumstances. I want you to know today. Jesus is sufficient!
2 Corinthians 12:9 “But he said to me, ” My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weakness, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
I am not a bible scholar but this is one of my most FAVORITE verses and I did some study on this a while back and in English it reads “My grace is sufficient for you.” But in the original Greek it reads “Sufficient for you is the grace of Me.” HE is the grace. He is the strength. He is the power. He is the answer. Sufficient is Jesus for you. He doesn’t give you what you need and then walk away. He is there to stay.
Matthew 28: 20 b “I am with you always.”
So you might feel much like I have in my writing. Alone, waiting to hear from God, wondering if He is even there. But I am here to tell you , to remind you that HE IS THERE . HE IS SUFFICIENT. And when you feel weak in that moment KNOW without a doubt that HIS power is perfect in that moment. And He will finish , complete and have the last word. Rest in His promise!
