For thus said the Lord God,
the Holy One of Israel:
By waiting and by calm you shall be saved,
in quiet and in trust shall be your strength.
Isaiah 30:15 NAB
Waiting
There’s beauty in the waiting. Wherever you are in life, chances are you’re waiting for something. Waiting can be arduous but it can also be fruitful. When we acknowledge that God’s timing is perfect, our waiting takes on a whole new meaning. Waiting is not a waste of time. In fact, through waiting, God may be preparing you for what’s ahead. We have such a limited perspective of life so it’s hard to see this. Waiting develops patience. Or in my case, it has forced me to grow in patience. We can easily get impatient. We can also fall into the trap of being so focused on waiting for something that we miss what’s happening and fail to fully live out the present.
