We Could All Use A Little Inspiration

We caught the end of a new series on tv, Superman and Lois. Another Superman show. But the twist in this one is they return to the farm he was raised on with their own two sons, who find out just who their dad really is for the first time. There are some interesting twists followed by a prologue with one of the producers. Part of what he said caught my ear. “We all need a little hope, we all need a little inspiration…”

Oh beloved, we do don’t we? In this season there’s not a lot that inspires us. Masks don’t. Separation doesn’t. Politics doesn’t. And our usual forms of inspiration like tv shows about super heroes doesn’t either anymore. People who had plans now have a waiting game. People who wanted to enjoy their golden years are wondering where they went.

But precious believer, now is not the time to give up or give in. This locked up, uninspiring, historic time in our lives is here and so is the Lord. A tv show won’t make you feel better about life but for a moment. Could God use this season to turn our hearts to Him for our true inspiration? Could He take what the enemy is throwing at us and inspire us to get closer to Him and quit trying to find our hope in people, places and things?

Yes! This same God who sends salvation through His Son, will send you everything you need for this life and for godly living! It may be foggy this morning where you live, but in Christ you don’t have to live in a fog. There are many what if’s now, more than in a cliff hanger on tv. But all your what if’s are going to be turned into praise! What if? Name your what if and then look at the Lord. Has He ever been constrained by the earthly? Does He bow to the ungodly? Is He deaf when the words of mere man say things opposed to Him? No way! He is and was and always will be God – and He will always be who He says He is and fulfill His plans. Woe to the ones who get in His way! That’s inspiring right there! We aren’t under the schemes of man. We are under the authority of the King who formed the earth from nothing. He is your Inspiration! He is your Abba Father, but He is more. He is your Righteousness, your Peace, your purifier, your redeemer, your joy. Without Him sending Jesus, who walked in our shoes and died in our place, you and I could do nothing!

God loves you and He’s for you. Whatever He has inspired you to do, do that with all your heart. If you haven’t been inspired by Him in a while or ever, then run to Him this morning and ask Him. He will give you purpose beyond the everyday. And then live that inspired life in the Light of His Glory, Holiness and Mercy!

Isaiah 57:15 For thus says the high and exalted One who lives forever, whose name is Holy, “I dwell on a high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit in order to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Isaiah 5:16 But the Lord of hosts will be exalted in judgment, and the holy God will show Himself holy in righteousness.

Jeremiah 32:40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.

Psalm 99:2-3 Great is the LORD in Zion; He is exalted above all the peoples. Let them praise Your great and awesome name— He is holy!
