Weary In The Season

On top of everything else we have going on, I managed to “catch” a cold. Mind you, I was not looking for it, neither did I chase after it, but it was caught nonetheless. Did I mention I don’t like colds, neither do I want the nuisance of it. We have enough to do that I did not have time to be down for the count. I knew though that I would feel better soon. I was sure that it would not last forever. And I am thankful for that knowledge.

So too when seasons of trouble come our way. We don’t ask for those seasons do we? But they come upon everyone – generally while we’re completely unaware. We know it won’t last forever but we wonder anyway don’t we? We get weary in the season and forget.

Oh beloved, it’s time to remember – to remember that nothing you are going through will last forever. It’s a season. You didn’t cause it, you don’t deserve it, but it happens. Remember too that you aren’t alone to face it with no help. God is with you. He’s your Comforter. He’s also your Teacher. Whatever you are going through He has things to teach you that will help when this season is over.

Your destiny is not to live with the effects of this moment forever. He heals broken hearts, mends broken dreams and sets His own up for a beautiful outcome. Don’t waste another moment trying to figure out why this happened or how you could have avoided it. Just roll your cares on the Father, stay in His Word, talk to Him often and listen for His still small voice. This is your time to lean in and learn. No time spent with the Father is ever wasted. He gives beauty for ashes, joy for sorrow, peace in adversity and more.

God loves you and He’s for you. What a blessing to have a Friend in Jesus, a Great Physician, who knows how to heal what’s hurting and deliver out of every situation. Run to Him today and find everything you need to persevere and come out better. And rejoice in the Light of His wonderful care!
