I love it when they call out of the blue, just because you’re on their mind. Or come over for a cup of coffee after work and you laugh, or cry over things that have happened through the day. It’s wonderful to say, “I need you to pray for me “and they drop what they are doing and say, “Let’s do it now.”
When I was younger I remember the struggle I had being a friend. I was selfish. I wanted them to be just (my) friend. I would get very jealous and very possessive. But God showed me through the scripture, that was wrong (I Corinthians 13:4-7) The Love Chapter. When I learned that hard lesson, He showed me how friends are different and they all hold a very special place in our hearts.
Don’t take your friends for granted. Be there for them, just as you want them to be there for you. Friends strengthen and encourage us through the tough times and rejoice with us through the good times. Thank God for the special friends He has placed in your life.
May He surround you with true friends. And may you be a true friend to others.
