I must confess the picture in my mind of my house decorated for Christmas looks far different from the actual situation at this time. In my mind there are no dishes in the sink and no sale papers on the coffee table. In my mind the mantel is absolutely perfect. In reality it’s well… it’s getting there. What used to take hours now takes several days. I feel like my theme this year is Random Acts of Décor. LOL
Sometimes it feels like God’s design is Random Acts of What? We see chaos, mismatch, and a continual mess that needs cleaning up. We wonder what He’s up to. We wonder if we’ll get it all straightened out. We hope that the end doesn’t look like the now.
Oh beloved, God wants you to know that He sees you. He isn’t looking at your house or your décor. He’s looking at you. You are who He delights in. He knows He is welcome at your house, but do you know it? He just wants to be invited to participate in the design and be the theme. He sent Christ to give salvation to you among all the people of the world. But Christ also gives order to the randomness of life. You’re waiting to be perfect and have it all together. He’s saying give that mess to Me. Let Me redesign your life so that you aren’t in a perpetual state of fixing things and worrying about what it all looks like. Truth be told, even when things are pretty darn perfect, we tend to pick it apart. We pick ourselves apart too at times don’t we? What does God want with us we wonder? He has an answer to that.
God wants your heart. He loves you just as you are. No décor needed. He loves you when you don’t love yourself. Especially then. He is Love. And because CHRIST is in Christmas, you can take time to enjoy the Spirit of the holiday. Focus on the nativity but remember the empty tomb. Because of that stone rolled away you don’t have to live an empty life trying to get it all right. He is your right – He makes you right.
God loves you and He’s for you. Isn’t that amazing?! When it’s perfect and when it’s not. When you’re happy with yourself and when you can’t stand yourself. When you want Christmas perfection, He reminds you He is your source of excellence. Rejoice that you can enjoy life now, let Him straighten your life out where it needs help and let Him see it all just as you are. And praise Him that you can live in the Light of His Joy and Peace for you.

Psalm 35: 9“And my soul shall rejoice in the LORD; It shall exult in His salvation.”
Psalm 13: 6“I will sing to the LORD, Because He has dealt bountifully with me.”
