In Heaven What Kind of Bodies will we have?
Scripture: The apostle Paul wrote these words: “For we who live, always are given over to death for Jesus’ sake; so that the life of Jesus might be manifested in our mortal bodies…for we know He who raised the Lord Jesus, will raise us also and bring us with you into His presence… For we know if the tent which is our earthly home, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a building not made with hands, eternal in the heavens: for in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwellings; so we won’t be naked.” 2 Cor. 5: 1-3.
Perhaps this promise is more meaningful to us who are old or disabled and must depend on a walker and wheelchair to help us move around. But in heaven we will have perfect bodies, and no longer will we depend on these aids. The Bible does not tell us, but have your ever wondered the age we will be in Heaven? Will I be an old woman requiring a walker to walk? I do not think so, but don’t know the age we will be. When David and Bathsheba’s infant son died, David said he could not call him back, but he could go to him. So at the resurrection what age will his baby and aborted fetuses be?
In his letter to the church at Corinth, Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 15: 35 “But someone will ask: “How are the dead raised? with what kind of body do they come?” After a few words of explaining, he wrote that 2 Corinthians 15: 51b “we shall not all sleep, but all will be changed: the dead will be raised imperishable;” then he concluded by saying, ” Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord, your labor is not in vain.” 2 Corinthians 15: 58
Prayer: Father, thank You for the encouraging promises made to Your children. Since Jesus makes it possible to enjoy them, we thank You in His holy name. Amen.
