Reflections from Corinne’s Garden: God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise
“Let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name” –Hebrews 13:15
May the Lord open our eyes to see His glorious Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise before us this week? The backdrop for this week together is a lovely garden where I spent many years with my disabled granddaughter Corinne.
Behavior issues prevented us from going out in public, as a result we came so often that I lovingly named it Corinne’s Garden. Wandering along the antique brick paths we created stories about God’s first garden, what animals, especially dogs, lived there, did Jesus like the flowers He made? Prayed simple prayers, spoke short verses, laughed and sang together; an uncomplicated way to praise Jesus.
Ultimately God gave us four years together to offer simple praise to Him, then one day in His loving way He provided a family home, skilled to meet her needs with love and she moved away. Shortly after she moved I drove to Corinne’s Garden, to refresh my spirit. I walked for a time and then sensed God directing me to meet with Him daily in this place. During the years I’ve spent in Corinne’s Garden, God continuously use the Holy Spirit to shed light on His Designed Pathway of Praise.
He constantly nudges me toward His Word supplying insight such as….Hebrews 13:15 exclaiming, “Through Him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is the fruit of lips that acknowledge His name.” “Dear friends let’s give thanks with the fruit of our lips as we commune with God this week. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how every thought, action, word, and emotion can be offered up as a sacrifice of praise. The Scripture says “My mouth is filled with your praise and with Your glory all day long.”
