Having been born in Houston we knew about evacuating when bad weather came. Fortunately for us we always came to Arkansas for a family visit. We always had somewhere to go. This morning when I heard the rain, I was blessed with memories of how a bad situation always turned into a blessed time.
Oh beloved, it’s hard to believe, but even your bad situation is not your destiny. The weather report, the health report, the financial report – all of them are just part of your life. And these parts of your life ebb and flow – hard times don’t last. You have this great opportunity to live with your eye on the storm or your eye on the Lord. You may live in a place of hardship but you are a citizen of heaven.
You’ve seen it before. You know it won’t last. Yet often the ones who have been saved from the most horrendous situations soon forget. Miracles come and there’s talk about the miracles. But if you aren’t careful, you will navigate back toward negative thinking and thinking will become your speech pattern. God says watch the weather reports, but don’t let them dictate your feelings. Worst case scenarios are for the ones who live by scenarios. You beloved, live by the breath of Jesus, who saved you from a lost life and to a lively faith. Your destiny is secure, but your trip to that destiny can either focus on negative or rely on the report of the Lord. His Word is your destiny and obedient living is a protection from the storms overtaking you. Obedience simply means believing God and walking in and talking His Word with peace no matter what.
God loves you and He’s for you. No matter how bad it gets God is still good. This life isn’t your real life anyway. Hold loosely onto things and tightly onto Jesus. These days may seem ridiculously overwhelming but you aren’t going to succumb to anything other than God’s love. And that love will keep you safe and secure into heaven. As you walk in the Light, refuse the negative self-talk and rejoice in the keeping favor of the Lord!

Matthew 10:20 For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
Hebrews 3:6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of which we boast.
