You Need The Real Thing

Guitars have been part of my family since before I was born. Uncles, cousins and my own children play them. Our middle daughter and our son started playing when their grandmother gave them a small guitar when they were young. That daughter now has one of the best guitars made, given to her by her husband for Christmas.

So I laughed as I looked at a portable pocket guitar for sale. It’s just the upper part, the fret of the guitar and it was called a guitar gadget trainer. But I know it can’t do much for you because it’s not the real deal. Maybe it helps in some way to train the fingers to work the strings, but for 9.99 plus shipping you get what you pay for.

You may disagree with me about the pocket guitar gadget, but there’s no denying it’s not the real thing.

Oh beloved, in these last days you need the real thing when it comes to faith. There are many religions that promise much but deliver nothing. With Christ and the walk of faith you get the real deal. There is nothing you can practice on that will help you learn the reality of faith except to give your life to God through the way made by Christ. It may look good, sound right and be a great price with little cost, but when it’s all said and done, only the life in Christ will last. Practicing the faith through truth is your best way – the Bible is truth, Holy Spirit is truth and Christ paid the price and rose again so that you can be set free by Truth. As you practice the truth you are better equipped to live in it. Satan is forever defeated and you are forever redeemed. The lies of the enemy are just lies, nothing more. They are shades of darkness meant to lure you away from the truth. When you feel the most inadequate is when you are strongest! When you know you don’t deserve it God reminds you it’s a free gift. When you know you’ve blown it God is still with you to give you grace to help in time of need. When the enemy comes in like a flood and hopes you believe you are hopeless, God reminds you that through God you get the victory as He tramples down your enemies!

God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and ask Him to fill you with Holy Spirit and give you fresh insight for the Words of life you read. And then beloved, as you practice His presence and His Truth you will live in the Light of His Glory and Grace!

Psalm 60: 12 With God we will gain the victory, and He will trample down our enemies.

Psalm 18: 32 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Psalm 44: 5 Only by Your power can we push back our enemies; only in Your name can we trample our foes.

Psalm 119: 140 Your word is very pure, Therefore Your servant loves it.

Psalm 19: 8 The precepts of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart; the commandments of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
