Trials During the Past 100 years

Matthew 24:3
As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

As I reflect on life during the past one hundred years, many events come to mind; some good; others not so good.  Among those events during 1918 influenza caused more deaths than were killed during World War One. The war was raging in Europe, my mother was pregnant with her first child, and my dad might be drafted to serve his country.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace during those trying times. Perhaps the events had some negative effects on my young life, but I survived. And I pray and thank You in Jesus’ name. Amen
