We watched a movie last night about a youth pastor. He had become famous and been on the road promoting his book on reaching youth for Christ. But in the chaos of travel and the entertainment of it all, the message he originally proclaimed got lost.
One of the most telling quotes of the entire movie was this, “IF God wanted to be glorified, He’d hire professionals.”
Oh beloved, God speaks to our hearts this morning. He wants to remind us that His original message is enough. People respond to the real Gospel. Why? Because it lightens their burdens instead of weighing them down with more stuff.
God sees your heart and He knows your situation. He is reminding you and all His children in these last days that The Gospel is the message for the ages. And as you show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness, He will keep His message coming forward. You may not see yourself as good enough for God. You may have decided that you don’t have a stake in His story. You may have decided that if you can just make it through this life, you will be able to slide into heaven, maybe. But God is telling you and me and everyone else this morning that He is our source – of everything. He doesn’t need enhancement or help. And you don’t need anything but Holy Spirit within you. Even Jesus said He had to go away so that you could have another Comforter.
God’s plan is your plan. And you are good enough for Him to use – because nobody is good enough without Jesus. You aren’t the left overs, you are the Banquet of faith to your sphere of influence!
God loves you and He’s for you. Run to Him this morning and ask Him to renew your faith in Him. Ask Him for understanding of your purpose here and now. And live, sharing Jesus, as you abide in Him forever!
