Play Fair and Accept When You Are Wrong

While playing cards and dominoes with a daughter and grandson, I found myself wanting to help the grandson win. He missed a turn on the dominoes game that would have given him big points. I was more than willing for him to take back the one domino and replace it with another. However, his mom said he had already had his turn. Of course she was right. I don’t like them getting in trouble either and I’ll do whatever I can to avoid that. Fortunately these parents are teaching their kids the same way we taught ours – play fair and accept when you are wrong.
Oh beloved, we want God to be all benevolent. Couldn’t He just come now and change things? Wouldn’t it be easier just to stop all the rioting, destruction and mayhem? Does He not care? Is He not aware?
God is the Lord. The Great I AM. He never sits passively by while wrong is done. And He isn’t sitting passively by now. Your situation, however dire and impossible, is being monitored by the King of Kings. He says it is in repentance, returning to Him, that you will find strength. We just want to make things easy for ourselves. The enemy’s desire is to kill, steal and destroy – anything and everything, anyone and everyone. Even those who are doing his bidding in this hour will not be left unscathed. But we have The Only Living God as our refuge. Whether it’s a financial surprise or a riotous mob, God will be with those who lean on Him and those who refuse to give up their faith. God is with you. God is historically available to those who call on His name. So beloved, you can call on His name right now this morning. You help comes form Him- the One who made heaven and earth and created you to live in this time. And who knows beloved, but that you were born for such a time as this?
God loves you and He’s for you always, even now. The truth is hard to deal with sometimes. But the Truth sets people free, including you. Although God is loving and merciful, He is not an indulgent Father. He is your ally for faithfulness and He will guide you into all Truth. He made you just the way you are, no accident, no mistake, no lack. Don’t apologize for who you are, because as a believer, you belong to Him. If you are unsure of your salvation, run to Him this morning and ask Him. Then go out and live, as an ambassador of Christ, in the Light of His wonder working power!
Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. But you would have none of it.
Isaiah 45:22 Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other.
Exodus 20:3 You shall have no other gods before Me.
Psalm 146:8 the LORD opens the eyes of the blind, the LORD lifts those who are weighed down, the LORD loves the righteous.
Exodus 4:11-12 So the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
Matthew 10:20 For it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
