I am the world’s worst at losing my sunglasses/shades. I only buy cheap sunglasses now because I know that before long they will be lost. Their purpose is to hide the brightness of the sun and to make vision clearer. My eyes are sensitive to light and if I don’t wear them I can’t see well. Losing focus can cause me problems, especially when driving.

Perhaps you can relate to me concerning the shades. The sun sometimes seems so bright you either squint your eyes very tight, close your eyes completely or fumble into your purse for your shades. None of these actions are good if you happen to be operating a vehicle. You want your focus to be clear not blurry. You want to see what is truly there in front of you.

How many times in your Christian life have you come upon a situation in which you do not see clearly. You are drawn in and deceived because you were unable to focus and see clearly the truth of the matter.

Don’t lose your focus. Put on the sunglasses of Christ and learn the truth. It’s not a secret, God’s truth may be found in His Holy Word, the Bible. Filter you decisions and your thoughts and actions through His light. And you will be able to see clearly.

Luke 21: 8  He replied: “Watch out that you are not deceived. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Do not follow them.

Psalm 19: 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

Holy Father, You know my heart. Please guide my steps and my focus through Your Holy Word. Guard my heart and give me vision to see clearly around me. In Jesus Name, Amen
