The Antidote to Sin

I was thinking about how we get sick. The virus type of sickness. Something so tiny we cannot even see it with our own eyes, yet it can wreck havoc in our lives. I thought about how viruses come and go and will be a part of our lives always. All we can do is try to prevent the exposure to them or treat it as best as we can,  but we will never be fully free from them, here on earth.
That musing led me to thinking about sin in our lives. Sin is something that is comparable to a virus. It can be so subtle that we don’t even see it coming. We step right into where it is hanging out, or we bring it upon ourselves by our own choices and lack of safe-guarding. We look to blame someone when we are sick, but there is no purpose in that. Just like there is no purpose in blaming someone else for our sins.
Jesus came to the world so that He could be the antidote to sin. It doesn’t take away the consequences that sin will have in this fallen world and in our relationships. However, it will take away the penalty we would have to pay for it.
Jesus IS the antidote to sin and the only way. For those who put their trust in Him, our sins, because of Jesus will be washed white as snow and will be as far as the east is from the west. When we get to heaven, there will be no more sickness or death. No more tears.
Psalm 103:2 “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.”

Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
Psalm 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”
