Go To The Source

We were on the hunt for a certain type of shrub over the weekend. I’ve been looking for a while. We checked at a giant home store chain while we were in Hot Springs. They didn’t have it, nor did they seem to know what we were talking about. We decided to call around instead of going from place to place. The first place I called was a delight. The woman on the phone responded with, “Do we!” And she laughed. When we arrived, sure enough, she had a lot of those plants, and a variety as well. She also knew what she was selling and how to care for them. That was her only job, to sell and care for plants.

Oh beloved, in these last days many people are talking about the Gospel and life in Christ. Not everyone is intimately acquainted with the Truth of the Bible. What you need now is to know the Gospel for yourself and to learn the Word and walk in God’s precepts. The most knowledgeable person on earth, without really knowing the Lord, is quite bankrupt. Faith is not only important, it’s imperative.

God reminds you this morning that when you go to the Source, you find true wisdom, power and love. You learn to hang onto Him and let go of other things. Your life is so precious to Him that He wants you to increase your knowledge and to place your trust in Him. Just as I told the lady at the nursery that I’d be back (she had several things I’ve been looking for), when you find the Lord, you always go back to Him over and over. He is the Source of Life, your life. Nothing else will do. Read the Word, find out who God is and who Christ is. Don’t buy into cheap alternatives. You are too important to the Kingdom to settle for less!

God loves you and He’s for you. See His hand upon your life? You haven’t just survived, you have thrived! Run to Him and ask for more wisdom, power and love. And live in the Word and walk it out as the genuine truth for your life!

Exodus 15:11 Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?

Acts 4:11-12 This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. The earth quakes at His wrath, And the nations cannot endure His indignation.

John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
