Joyful Praise

Reflections from Corinne’s Garden: God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise

“But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.” Psalm 59:16 (NIV)

Do you wake in the morning with great joy in your soul? ……I can hear you saying….are you kidding? …I’m not a morning
person….. What is there to be joyful about? …..I’m so tired…..what is there to get up for?

As we continue our week on following God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise let me share what God’s word says about joyful praise.

I was in Corinne’s garden today, the morning was washed fresh from an overnight rain shower; birds were singing and flowers lifting their blooms to the sun. I was overcome with the beauty that God has given me in my home town; yet my thoughts seemed clouded; I couldn’t concentrate, I didn’t have the joy in my soul that I have access to through my Lord Jesus. God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise led me to His living word and Psalm 59:16. So many times we go to the Psalms because they address realities we face daily as believers. This one summarizes many problems David was facing as Saul hunted to kill him. David was confronting external resistance as well as fear inside of himself. He lifted his sacrifice of praise opening up his heart to the Lord, and his urgent prayer for help and deliverance poured forth passionately.

The many fears you and I face today can similarly steal our joy in Jesus Christ. Dear friend join me as I lift my joy as a sacrifice of praise to my Lord. Scripture says “think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”(Philippians 4:8)

Thoughtful Reflection
How can you bring your joy as a sacrifice of praise to God today?
