Reflections from Corinne’s Garden: God’s Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise
In our third day of looking at how we reflect on lifting a sacrifice of praise let’s continue in Colossians 3:10 which speaks of focusing our new identity in Christ. “And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” Colossians 3:10 (NIV)
My ID card Reads: Image Bearer of God ‘Who am I? What is my identity? This was a thought that crossed my mind today as I watched people come and go throughout the park. The sun sparkles through the tree-tops with God’s radiance; birds sing songs of celebration for a new day and little creatures scurry on their way through the park as mothers and children enjoy their time together; volunteers working in the garden and people of all ages walking through the park. I used to be one of “them”! Who am I? What is my identity in this season of my life?
Once again Gods Designed Pathway to the Sacrifice of Praise leads me to His Word. Here the Lord reminds me that my identity is not in the things of the world or what the world around me thinks, I am to reflect Christ. I am His Image Bearer.
It is God’s warm love, His gracious radiance that causes me to rejoice that I am His child ~ that my identity is in Christ and Him alone. He is the one who directs my life; knowing this , gives me great peace and frees me from self made anxiety. Scripture says “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”(2 Corthians5:17, ESV)
Thoughtful Reflection
After reading this verse ask yourself – Do I I display God’s glory as His image bearer? Why or why not?
